The RJC is pleased to announce that Brighton and Hove Independent Mediation Service has been awarded the Restorative Service Quality Mark (RSQM). Brighton and Hove Independent Mediation Service is a charity helping families, neighbours, businesses and organisations to resolve conflicts and disputes.

Chris Straker, the RJC’s interim chief executive, said:

“I would like to offer my congratulations to the team at Brighton and Hove Independent Mediation Service for successfully completing the RSQM. This shows that they are providing the highest standards in restorative practice.”

The RSQM is a badge of quality that guarantees that a service provides safe, high quality restorative practice which meets the six Restorative Service Standards. Brighton and Hove Independent Mediation Service joins other RSQM awardees – in sectors ranging from criminal justice through education to care – delivering high quality restorative processes.

Mark Green, service manager at Brighton and Hove Independent Mediation Service, said:

“We were absolutely delighted to learn we have passed the RSQM. It provides external recognition of the work we and all our mediators undertake.

“Undertaking the RSQM gave us the opportunity to systematically review and then update and amend our policies and procedures. It was also an effective engagement tool with trustees, staff, mediators, clients and referrers.”
