New Ministry of Justice funding

The RJC is pleased to have agreed funding for 2016-17 with the Ministry of Justice to deliver a programme of work to promote the use of restorative justice and ensure quality in its delivery.

In line with reductions in government spending, however, the RJC’s funding from the Ministry of Justice has been significantly reduced compared to the last two years. We will therefore be continuing to carry out a programme of work with the Ministry of Justice, but on a smaller scale than previously.

The RJC’s trustees are clear that our work as the standards body for the restorative practice field will continue and we remain committed to the RSQM, which the Ministry of Justice will continue to support, and our other quality assurance work. We also remain committed to working with our members and supporting them in what they do, as well as to our important work to raise public and political awareness of restorative justice. All of this will continue, but with a smaller staff team than in the previous two years.

We look forward to continuing to work with our members and details regarding any changes to key contacts within the RJC staff team will be released shortly. In the meantime, members and other stakeholders are welcome to contact our chief executive officer, Jon Collins, at with any questions.
